Turas was rescued into House of James 1 in Ukraine at just 8 years old. His father had died from alcohol abuse, and because of his mother’s own struggle with alcohol, his father’s body remained undiscovered in their home for several days. Turas was a sweet and giving child who grew into a young man we were incredibly proud of. After finishing school, he found a great job and even built his own home in the same village as House of James 1 so he could remain close to the family who helped raise him. Most importantly, we were blessed to share the love of Christ with Turas and watch him grow into the man he became. Tragically, Turas lost his life in a freak accident in January 2026 at just 27 years old. His life ended far too soon, but he will always be part of the House of James family. His story is a lasting reminder of the difference a loving home and lifelong family can make.
