Rita came to House of James 1 Ukraine in 2007 at just 11 years old after losing her mother to alcohol-related causes and with her father in prison. During her time at House of James, her father also passed away. Despite the loss she experienced, Rita excelled in track and field, earning numerous awards and medals throughout high school. She received a full scholarship to university and went on to earn a master’s degree in Physical Education. Today, Rita is married and has a son of her own. Her story is a beautiful example of what is possible through the long-term commitment of our house parents and the faithful support of those who partner with House of James.
